According to an article on BBC, the co-founder and guitarist of The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, is having doubts about how his health condition will change when the band celebrates their 60th anniversary in 2022.
One of the most iconic rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones was founded back in 1962 by Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, and Ian Stewart. After their various achievements fulfilled in a half of a century-long career, The Rolling Stones members were still excited to perform on stage up until the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
As you may recall, The Rolling Stones was on the ‘No Filter Tour‘ before the outbreak of the Covid-19. The tour began in 2017 with their show in Hamburg, Germany, and was due to conclude in 2020. However, on March 17, 2020, The Rolling Stones sadly announced that they had to postpone the North American dates for May and July 2020.
However, they did not leave their fans in suspense, and on April 23rd, The Rolling Stones gave the exciting news of the release of their new song named ‘Living in a Ghost Town‘ which was actually recorded in London and Los Angeles earlier in 2019.
As the 60th anniversary of the band’s iconic career approaches, a recent interview on BBC News delved into the opinions of The Rolling Stones star Keith Richards on this special day. According to the article, Richards hasn’t even thought about the upcoming 60th anniversary of the band. However, he seemed to have some doubts about how his health status would be within the next two years.
During the interview, Richards mockingly stated he might get a new wheelchair for the 60th anniversary of The Rolling Stones. He also mentioned the fact that he gets confused sometimes about how he ended up in this career full of exceptional achievements.
Here’s what Keith Richards stated:
“I hadn’t even thought about it! I don’t know. I might get a new wheelchair. Yeah, it’s been pretty exceptional this particular life.
I’m really at a loss sometimes to sort of figure out how the hell I got here. But the music is the thing that keeps you going, so that’s what I try and concentrate on.”
As you know, Keith Richards has been continuing to be a rock star regardless of his age. The 76-year-old icon frequently implied he was going to be in this world forever in his statements and many of his fans seemed to believe he was capable of doing so.
