Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach posted a photo of himself with his parents on Instagram and wrote a long emotional open letter to thank them: ‘I’m forever in your debt for all you have done for me.’

As you might know, the lead singer of Killswitch Engage, Jesse Leach has been struggling with mental illness for a while now. He has been openly and actively sharing his experiences about his struggle and the treatment process.

On a recent Instagram post, Jesse shared a picture of himself posing with his parents and wrote an open letter to thank them. On his long statement dedicated to his parents, Jesse got emotional about the support he received from his family throughout the years.

On the caption of their photo, he mentioned how thankful he was for his parent’s efforts to raise him:

Grateful to have these two amazing humans as my teachers, friends, and parents. They raised me with respect, faith, loyalty, work ethic, honesty, compassion, and love. They have been through a great deal in their lives but they have always looked out for other people. They have taken families, misfits, outcasts, as well as broken and rehabilitating people into their homes.

I lived a unique childhood and I’ve only in recent years learned to truly appreciate it all. As we navigate through this strange, uncertain, and at times gut-wrenching time I am grateful I have my upbringing and my roots to lean on. I don’t know who or where I would be if I didn’t have these two constantly reminding me of my calling in this life. They often reassure me through texts, phone calls, or the occasional FaceTime.

As much as I really strive to have my own strength and resolve to pull me through hard times I must admit I’ve been very blessed to have these two in my corner. Although they are very rarely on any social media I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge my parents. They may not understand all of my decisions and actions in this life but they have never stopped supporting me and guiding me along my journey. They are both wise and truly caring people.

I can not wait to see them soon and spend some quality time with them. I am so fortunate and blessed to have them in my life and in my corner especially during this unprecedented time we are all moving through and navigating. If you have loving parents please don’t take them for granted. In fact, don’t take anyone who truly loves you for granted! Those people who surround and support you are crucial to your life and deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated. You wouldn’t be who you are without them.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, I’m forever in your debt for all you have done for me. 🙏🏼
