KISS bassist Gene Simmons spoke in an interview with Los Angeles Times, and talked about his former bandmate Ace Frehley. This statement is the first statement after Ace’s serious claims against Gene.

Back in January 2019, during an interview with Guitar World, KISS bassist Gene Simmons claimed that Ace Frehley was fired from the band three times.

Two days later, Ace Frehley has reacted to Gene’s claims. He wrote on Facebook:

“Gene, your memory is really incorrect!… I was NEVER FIRED from KISS, I quit twice (not 3-times) of my own free will, because you and Paul are control freaks, untrustworthy and were too difficult to work with!

Today’s comments have made me realize you’re just an asshole and a sex addict who’s being sued by multiple Women, and you’re just trying to sweep it all under the carpet!”

Today, Gene talked with Los Angeles Times, and said:

“I’m not gonna say anything in print other than I love Ace and Peter [Criss, original KISS drummer] and I thank them forever — they’re every bit as important as Paul and myself for launching the band.

I’m not going to make any guesses of why the emotions are so volatile, but it’s happened before.”
