KISS lead guitarist Tommy Thayer was recently interviewed by Artists On Lockdown’s ‘Hangin’ & Bangin’ this week, and they had a conversation about how he managed to find his daughter last summer.
As you may remember, back in March, Tommy shared a photo on his official Instagram page to announce that he was waiting for the right time to tell everyone that she found out his daughter named Sierra. According to Tommy, they have already spent a lot of time since the last summer and stated that he is happier than any time.
In his interview with Carmine Appice, Vinny Appice, and Ron Onesti, KISS lead guitarist shares the details of how he found Sierra, and how did they go to DNA testing company 23andMe together. He also added that Sierra was more blown away than he was when they have found out the truth.
Here is what Thayer said:
“I found out I have a daughter last summer. I was married for many years and never had any kids, so I kind of thought that window of opportunity had passed me by. But through DNA-testing company 23andMe, actually, a second cousin of mine was in contact with Sierra. And she’s 31 years old. So this all took place in ’89, ’89.
It’s the most incredible thing. It’s just a blessing. And she’s just a beautiful girl — very genuine and just so sweet. It’s just an unbelievable happening in my life. It’s the biggest thing that’s happened to me in a long time, that’s for sure.”
