The official and verified Instagram account of the legendary nu-metal band Korn posted a rare unseen photo today and unveiled the untold story of why did they write ‘Justin‘ from their third studio album named ‘Follow The Leader.’
As you might already follow the career of Korn that ‘Follow The Leader’ was released on August 18, 1998, by Immortal/Epic Records and it was their first album which was not produced by Ross Robinson who is the producer of Slipknot, Glassjaw, Tech N9ne, The Cure and many more.
While ‘Justin’ was the tenth track of the album which got many great reviews from the authorities, today, Korn posted the unseen photo of Brian ‘Head’ Welch Munky and Justin himself and told the story of how why they named the song after him.
Here is what’s written in the caption:
“We loved playing the song “Justin” for Korn Monumental. Justin, pictured here next to Brian Welch & Munky, was our first Make-A-Wish foundation visit. We were writing Follow The Leader in Gardena, California when we met him.
He came to our rehearsal and spent the day with us. He was so happy and excited to meet us and couldn’t believe he was watching us write a song – which ended up being the song “Justin” named after him. He passed away, unfortunately, a few months after this photo was taken. We’re happy to keep Justin’s memory alive with our song.”
