Courtney Love, the widow of the late Nirvana icon Kurt Cobain, has talked about her ongoing musical activities and unveiled the person who makes her feel like the luckiest motherfucker in the history of rock and roll after 26 years.
The founder and frontwoman of the alternative rock band Hole, Courtney Love, has lately spoken to NME about her relocation period to London from Los Angeles, and the possibility of a Hole reunion in near future.
Love explained that, before she came to the UK, she had Melissa from Auf Der Maur, and Schemel drummer, Patty, come with their tech to this old-world rehearsal studio and had a good session. Recalling how good it felt to be in the studio again, the singer said that a reunion project is something she’d love to do.
The frontwoman revealed that she has recorded several new songs while she’s been in London and also taken this time to enjoy rediscovering really great songwriters like Aimee Mann who’s from L.A.
Within the course of the conversation, Courtney indicated some amazing news about her musical career, mentioning the person who made her feel like the luckiest motherfucker in the history of rock and roll. Love said that, after 26 years, she and her family have an honest and ethical manager with great ears in Jonathan Daniel and Crush Music.
She praised her manager, who has been working together with Courtney since 2009, by recalling the songs she is proud of to put forth with him. Love said that he started managing her while she was making her making a self-funded album called ‘Nobody’s Daughter,’ and is working with her on the new material too.
At the end of the interview, Courtney Love confessed that she always thought that their lovely daughter Frances-Bean Cobain would be a professional horse rider rather than a musician.
Here’s what Courtney Love said about her ongoing musical projects:
“It’s early days, and I’ve recorded several new songs while I’ve been in London. I’ve also taken this time to enjoy rediscovering really good songwriters like Aimee Mann who’s from L.A. but went to Julliard and is a genius and overlooked.
Frances sends me playlists, which are fantastic and full of artists that I hadn’t come across before too.”
She continued:
“I also feel like the luckiest motherfucker in the history of rock and roll because, finally, after 26 years, myself and my family have an honest and ethical manager with great ears in Jonathan Daniel and Crush Music.
We’ve been together since 2009. He started managing me in the middle of me making a self-funded album called ‘Nobody’s Daughter,’ which had some really amazing songs that I’m so proud of. He’s been instrumental in working with me on the new material too.”
An interviewer asked:
“Your daughter Frances occasionally posts videos of her singing and playing. She’s really good! When will she be making her proper musical debut?”
Courtney Love responded:
“That’s so kind. She’s super talented and an incredible artist but I always thought she would be a professional horse rider. You should have seen her – she had so many medals and trophies and when I first saw her on a horse, I thought she looked so majestic… like Boudicca!”
