Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich teased the band’s new project related to the 30th anniversary of the ‘Black Album’ on his official Instagram account.
Metallica’s self-titled fifth studio album, also known as the ‘Black Album,’ was released in 1991. The album peaked No. 1 in both Billboard 200 and UK Albums charts. Furthermore, it became Metallica’s most successful record, and it features legendary songs such as ‘Enter Sandman,’ ‘Unforgiven,’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters.’
This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the ‘Black Album,’ and Metallica had been hinting that they will do something special to celebrate the third decade of this album. After a short period, the band announced they will release a remastered version named ‘Black Album 2021’ on September 10 with a deluxe box set featuring a book, guitar picks, and many more.
However, it seems like Metallica won’t stop there to celebrate and promote the record. As Lars showed on his official Instagram account, they are preparing another surprise for their fans in London with ‘The Black Cab.’ Lars shared a picture of a black cab with Metallica’s ‘Black Album 2021’ logo printed on the sides and on top of it. It is likely that one of the band members will ride this cab and try to surprise their fans in real life.
Lars Ulrich captioned the photos while showing his excitement for ‘The Black Cab’:
“Coming your way London!”
