Jimmy Page, the legendary guitarist and founder of Led Zeppelin, has admitted that he is strongly opposed to canceling any show and proved how dedicated he is to his music as he disclosed the memory about one of his performances in 2000.

Page has recalled the time when he appeared on Jay Leno with The Black Crowes to perform the ‘Wanton Song.’ As you may remember, in October 1999, Page teamed up with the band for a two-night performance in New York and Los Angeles, and also at the Centrum Centre in Worcester, yielding a live release, ‘Live at the Greek.’

Taken place during this period, within the second part of the ‘Together Onstage‘ tour, the performance on the TV show was pretty risky for Page, as he explained. He said that it became clear to him on the show of the 12th at Albuquerque that a back injury he had sustained on the first part of the tour was just not going to fade away.

Jimmy Page expressed how he feared at that time for not going to be able to continue the tour and have to cancel the dates, which is an act not in his DNA. He said that it was a tough decision for all those concerned, who are The Crowes, The Cult, and the members of the crew.

Realizing there really was no other option, they got on the stage and did their best. Jimmy added that after he made it and put a great performance, the host of the TV show, Jay Leno gave him a baseball cap.

Here is what Jimmy Page said on his latest Instagram post:

“On this day in 2000, I appeared on Jay Leno with The Black Crowes and we performed The Wanton Song.

This was the second part of the ‘Together Onstage’ tour, however, it was made clear to me on the show of the 12th at Albuquerque that a back injury I had sustained on the first part of the tour was just not going to fade away and unfortunately I was not going to be able to continue the tour. I’d never had to pull out of a tour before and cancelling dates is not in my DNA!

It was a tough decision for all those concerned: The Crowes, The Cult and the members of the crew, but there really was no other option.

After the show Jay Leno gave me a baseball cap!”
