Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has shared a photo of himself from his ‘Outrider’ album via his verified Instagram account and made a statement about Grammy Awards.
As you might already know, Jimmy was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rock Performance with his song named ‘Writes of Winter’ in 1989. But couldn’t win the award.
In the statement, Jimmy stated that he was so surprised to be a nominate and wasn’t expecting to win the award. With this statement, Jimmy criticized Grammy’s evaluations.
Here is what Jimmy Page wrote:
“I was surprised to be nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rock Performance for the track Writes of Winter from the Outrider album and, on this day in 1989, the awards took place.
Unsurprisingly, I didn’t win – but it had been the first Grammy nomination that I had received and that included the work in @ledzeppelin”
A fan named Warren Dean said:
“Milli Vanilli received a Grammy. That pretty much sums the Grammys up.”
Another fan named Elizabeth Rodriguez penned:
“You are deserving of bigger things than a Grammy.”
