The official Instagram account of Led Zeppelin icon Jimmy Page posted the photo of his highly-anticipated book, ‘Jimmy Page: The Anthology,’ and shared the details of what the fans should expect from Page’s latest project.
As you might remember, Led Zeppelin’s legendary guitarist Jimmy Page has been working on his upcoming book, ‘The Anthology,’ following the success of his previous book named ‘Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page,’ which was released in 2014.
Last year, the limited edition of ‘Jimmy Page: The Anthology’ was released on December which had only 2,500 copies and each signed by Jimmy Page himself. The 384-page book narrated in Page’s own words and costed $487.
Recently, the official Instagram account of Jimmy Page added another piece to the well-known ‘On This Day‘ series which pointed out today’s date instead of referring to another historical event happened on this day years ago. Page’s unusual post was about the release of his anthology again with a more affordable price this time which would be around $60.
On the caption, it was announced that ‘The Anthology’ had been released already in the U.K. and was planned to be released globally on next Tuesday, October 20, 2020. The book would be revealing the details of Page’s musical career via selected material from his rich personal archives.
“On this day in 2020, my book ‘Jimmy Page: The Anthology’ is released in the UK.
Within the contents of The Anthology, I wanted to include items from my personal archive that have played a part in my career over 60 years, to illustrate the detail behind the detail.
’In a new text of over 70,000 words, Jimmy Page guides the reader through hundreds of rare items, many of which are previously unseen, and others of mythic status, such as the Gibson double-neck guitar, his dragon-emblazoned suit, his white embroidered poppy suit, and the outfit worn in the concert film The Song Remains the Same.
Also included are handwritten diaries, correspondence, rare vinyl pressings, previously unpublished photographs, and much, much more.
Jimmy Page has personally selected each piece to be photographed in this book, which has been created with his full participation.
The result is Jimmy Page: The Anthology. Both reflective and revealing, it is quite simply the legendary musician’s most comprehensive and fascinating account of his life to date.’
