Jimmy Page, the guitarist of Led Zeppelin and one of the genius musicians in the industry, has recalled the period when he was making music for his short-term band, The Firm, and talked about the legendary Les Paul‘s appearance in one of their music videos.

The iconic guitarist Jimmy Page has unveiled one more of his remarkable memories on Instagram. Mentioning the year 1984, when The Firm’s first album mixes were completed at the Sol Studios, Page detailed the creation process of the band’s first work.

Jimmy said Paul Rodgers and he, himself, had written material and then took it further to the studio with The Firm. They finished some final mixes for this project that was soon to tour approximately this period in 1984.

Page added that they did two videos as promos, one for the song, ‘Radioactive,’ which was filmed at Hammersmith Odeon in London, and the other for ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed,’ which was recorded on the last day of the first leg of an American tour.

Jimmy Page didn’t forget to refer one of the leading figures in guitar, Les Paul, who is not only a musician but also an inventor. Page said that Paul played in the role of the convivial barman chatting up the ladies for the music video of ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed.’

Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul, was jazz, country, and blues guitarist. He was one of the pioneers of the solid-body electric guitar, and his prototype, called the Log, served as inspiration for the Gibson Les Paul.

He is credited with many recording innovations. His early experiments with overdubbing, delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording were among the first to attract widespread attention.

Here is what Jimmy Page said in his latest Instagram post:

“On this day in 1984, The Firm‘s first album mixes were completed at the Sol Studios, Cookham in Berkshire. Paul and I had written material and then took it further to the studio with The Firm.

Today marks the finish of some final mixes for this project that was soon to tour; ‘Closer’, ‘Make Or Break’, ‘Someone to Love’, ‘Together’, ‘Radioactive’, ‘Money Can’t Buy’ and ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed’.⁣

We did two videos as promos – ‘Radioactive‘ filmed at Hammersmith Odeon in London and ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed,’ recorded on the last day of the first leg of an American tour, which features Les Paul in the role of the convivial barman chatting up the ladies.”
