Former Steel Panther bassist Lexxi Foxx opened up about his second departure from the band by emphasizing that he feels uncomfortable while talking about it in his recent interview with Rockin’ With Jam Man.
As you probably know, Steel Panther’s founding bassist Lexxi Foxx left the band for the first time in 2014 when he decided to go into sex rehabilitation. However, he reunited with the band a short time later. The band announced his second and probably final departure with a Facebook post in July.
In their previous statement entitled ‘The End of an Era,’ which was shared on the band’s official Facebook page, Steel Panther revealed that Foxx left the band to work on his side project, Sexy Lexxi’s Prettiest Pets. Later, Foxx talked about his departure and unveiled that it was a tough decision.
Moreover, Lexxi Foxx stated that he hasn’t communicated with the other band members since his departure except for the lead singer Michael Starr. Foxx is proud of what he did as a Steel Panther member. Also, he said that he feels refreshed even though he defined the situation as a ‘sore spot’ and ‘scar.’
Foxx said in his interview that:
“We haven’t talked. I still talk to the singer Michael Starr a little bit – I have in the past. However, I think that those scars and I think that the departure, the way that it went down, I think there are some sore spots but that’s tough for me to talk about.
That was something that I’m very proud of – to be that character for such a long period of time and to play with those cats. They’re all amazing musicians. I just think that it is different to not have that in my life – I had been in character for so long – but I have to say it’s a little refreshing as well.“
