Speaking in a recent podcast of Guns N’ Roses Central, former Guns N’ Roses manager Doug Goldstein has shared little-known truth about Axl Rose’s backstage behaviors.

According to Alternative Nation’s report, Doug said that Axl was never a groupies kind of guy. Here’s the statement:

“We had your typical backstage you know, 90% females and 10% males and they were just using people that had gotten to know somebody in the group.”

The guys weren’t like that. All of them had girlfriends or wives and you know, when I toured with some of the other bands I toured with, it was crazy with them. But with the Guns guys, they just weren’t really into it. I mean, it just wasn’t who they were.”

Axl just wasn’t that kind of a guy. He wasn’t married, but that just wasn’t who he was. He doesn’t really, he’s just not into that scene, never really was.

Doug also talked about how Axl Rose dealt with his break up from Stephanie Seymour. He said:

“I don’t know. I mean I’d have to ask him today. I don’t know; it’s more about her son Dylan (Thomas Andrews. Stephanie’s eldest son by her first husband, guitarist Tommy Andrews).

He wanted to be Dylan’s step-dad and he treated that kid amazing like he was his son. I think it was a chance for him to have some normalcy in his life that he otherwise didn’t get the opportunity to have.”
