Halestorm members Lzzy Hale and Arejay Hale spoke in an interview with Kaytie of the Wisconsin radio station Razor 94.7 and they explained what fans can expect from next album of Halestorm.
Lzzy Hale commented:
“We started pre-production in a different way. We kind of went in with nothing, with our producer, Nick Raskulinecz, and just started recording and creating. We finally hit on a few things and recorded some songs, and our management already thinks we have the first single and they haven’t even heard everything yet. As soon as we finish this tour, we go right back in, and we’re hoping to get it done before the new year.”
“It’s like organized chaos at this point, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, so that’s good.”
“The recording process from our first record until now has kind of widened, and gotten a lot less assembly-line, and less organized.”
“It’s a much more organic process than the way that we’ve done the previous records, which is just to do the writing process and then the pre-production process, get the demos together and then basically just go in and record.
We actually went in the studio with no songs and started writing them from the ground up with no other writer but just the four of us and our producer. It’s been great. I think it took finding a producer that really worked that way. Nick really fits us like a glove, and he brings out so much personality in all of us, and in all of the music.”
“Everybody’s firing on all cylinders. It feels like we’re back in our parents’ basement trying to hash it out. There’s four sides to Halestorm— it’s not just about me being the singer and whoever playing in the background.
I think this is going to be the first record where you can really hear what puts Halestorm together. We’re all doing things that we’ve always been able to show during our live show, but now we’re finally capturing it.”
