After their successful performance of ‘Heavy’ by Linking Park, Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee started to attract more and more attention from fans about the subject. In her recent ‘Ask Lzzy Anything’ on Twitter, Hale revealed that ‘Heavy’ was one of their top choices when storming ideas about covering songs.
Halestorm’s Lzzy and Evanescence’s Amy put on a successful show on November 5 when they surprised their fans by rocking the stage with Linking Park’s ‘Heavy’ cover. There was a cloud of melancholy in the concert hall because the song was unexpected and it hit differently knowing that Chester Bennington took his own life in 2017.
Previously, Lzzy Hale had stated in another ‘Ask Lzzy Anything’ on Twitter that performing the song made her feel the presence of Bennington in the concert hall, which is a comment enough to get goosebumps.
In her most recent ‘Ask Lzzy Anything,’ the frontwoman was asked by a fan who had attended the concert why they chose ‘Heavy’ to cover. She replied by stating that she and Lee had a conversation and a brainstorming session about it, and it was the best song they came up with.
Here is what the fan asked:
“I know I’m probably too late, but I just wanted to ask where the idea to perform the duet with Amy Lee for Linkin Park’s Heavy came from, because it was absolutely perfect! Saw you in Phoenix and had the time of my life!”
Here is Hale’s response:
“It was something that Amy I talked about. We had lobbed ideas back n forth for a while, and this was the best in the bunch.“
It surely was a memorable performance for the band and the fans who were lucky enough to see it. The fans now demand a studio version of the cover, yet there hasn’t been an announcement regarding that matter yet.
