Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale talked about her mental health journey while announcing the release of their new single, ‘Back From The Death.’

Earlier this year, Lzzy announced that Halestorm is working on a new project, their first studio album after 2018’s ‘Vicious’ record. Some hours ago, they released the lead single ‘Back From The Death’ from their still-untitled album.

While announcing the release of the new song, Lzzy also revealed the source of inspiration for the lyrics. The successful frontwoman stated that this song is about the mental health problems she has struggled with in the past years.

For years, Lzzy has been sharing her experience with depression and anxiety with her followers through her social media accounts and trying to help others get through tough times.

In the post, Lzzy pointed out that she was going through a tough time and almost got completely lost until music saved her. As she said, she didn’t let darkness and depression get into her head. With this song, the frontwoman also announced her revival as a new person, free from her mental problems.

Lzzy Hale on the lyrics of ‘Back From The Death’ via Instagram:

“‘Back From the Dead’ is written about my mental health journey over the past few years. I was going through a eally hard time, as we all have been in our own ways. I found myself standing on the edge of the world getting completely lost in my own oblivion.

But once again music saved me and through writing my truth, I didn’t just let the darkness and depression in my mind dig me an early grave. I’ve erased my name from my headstone, so save your prayers, I’m Back!

The video was so much fun to film! Dustin Haney is an amazing director. Dustin and his team really helped bring my orris to life and the video is one of the most cinematic pieces we’ve done in years! I hope this song, as I pass it on… Reminds you of your individual strength and that you are not Alone. Raise your horns!”
