Halestorm co-founder and frontwoman Lzzy Hale recently posted a video on her Instagram account and announced that she’ll be collaborating with one of her favorite metal bands ever, Sevendust, and expressed her gratitude for having one of her biggest dreams come true while telling the story of how they helped Halestorm during their early days.

As you know, Lzzy Hale is one of the rockstars who are the most active on their social media accounts. She often prefers to use her Instagram account to express her views on social and political matters, update her followers on her upcoming projects, interact with her fans, and of course, share stories and sneak peeks from her life.

With her recent post, Lzzy expressed her immense happiness and gratitude for finally seeing that one of her childhood dreams is coming true. As it turns out, Lzzy was a huge Sevendust fan when she was a teenager, and ‘Licking Cream‘ was one of her favorite songs. In fact, it was a ‘teenage metalhead dream’ of hers to someday sing that song with Sevendust.

Apparently, Sevendust had a huge impact on Halestorm. Back when they were still a local band, they would try to go to all of Sevendust’s performances. One night, they knocked on their bud door and they were welcomed in the tour bus where they found the courage to hand Sevendust a demo, which had an early version of ‘It’s Not You‘ on it, and then they returned to the venue.

When the band was about to come on stage, suddenly Lzzy heard her voice ‘roaring over the loudspeakers.’ As it turns out, Sevendust had handed their demo tape to the sound guy to play their song, so as to show their support for Halestorm. In the caption of her post, Lzzy said that this small gesture meant a lot for them, as after that they started thinking that they might actually ‘have something going on.’

In the caption of her recent post, Lzzy Hale both told the story of how Sevendust helped them realize their potential and announced that her teenage dream has finally become true. Tonight, on April 15, Lzzy Hale will singLicking Cream‘ with Sevendust on a Live Stream. She said that ‘being a part of this concert all these years after we first met, means so much’ and invited her fans to join her while she’s accomplishing a dream.

Here’s what Lzzy Hale said in the caption of her post:

“It had been a teenage metalhead dream of mine to someday sing ‘Licking Creme’ with Sevendust… this dream came true in a time when my soul needed it. Back when we were a local band we went to see Sevendust at the ALL AGES Chameleon Club in LANCASTER Pa. We were brazen youngins and knocked on their bud door, it opened and to our surprise, they let us in asking ‘aren’t you those kids we met at NAMM last year?'(yes, we saw an acoustic set at NAMM that past year). Anyway, we were so nervous, had never been on a tour bus before, but we had some water, chatted and handed them our demo (which had an early version of ‘It’s Not You’ on it) then headed into the venue.

Now we are standing in the front row waiting for the show to start and all of a sudden I hear ‘I’m in love with somebody…’ the intro to our song roaring over the loudspeakers. The Sevendust boys had given our demo to the sound guy and told him to play a song… Holy shit. You have no idea how much that small gesture meant to us local band kids. We collectively thought, Well… if one of our favorite bands thinks we are cool enough to play one of our songs through the house speaker before they hit the stage… then maybe we got something going on.

It encouraged us to keep working hard to get to where we want to be. I’ll never forget that moment in time. Thank you so much to Sevendust for all the selfless love kindness and everything past present and future. Being a part of this concert all these years after we first met, means so much. Love you, my friends. See you soon!”
