The legendary metal musician Marilyn Manson joined a conversation with famous Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage for a magazine and talked about many rarely known subjects including Manson’s wedding and Cage’s gambling for good.

As you may know, the iconic vocalist Marilyn Manson has been close friends with the Hollywood star Nicolas Cage for a long while. It was even claimed that Manson has had a quite similar look as his longtime friend over the years.

Recently, Marilyn Manson interviewed his dear friend Nicolas Cage for Interview Magazine and the two talented artists had a sincere conversation about their friendship and their successful careers. During the conversation, Cage brought up the time when he joined Manson’s wedding via Facetime and stated that it was a very special experience since he was the only guest for the ceremony.

Here’s what Cage said about the wedding:

“I thought your wedding was beautiful because that’s what you were doing while you were in lockdown. I got to see a little of it on FaceTime, and I thought it was very beautiful, the way you sang ‘Love Me Tender.’

As a response to Nicolas’ lovely words, Manson claimed that Cage actually ‘cock blocked’ him while singing ‘Love Me Tender’ and continued:

“You were the only guest at the wedding on FaceTime. And you definitely cock blocked me on singing ‘Love Me Tender,’ because you mentioned you were going to sing it to us, but I had set up a karaoke machine to do it myself. We both sang it in the end, and your version was even more beautiful.”

Furthermore, Marilyn asked his friend about the time he was living in Las Vegas and found out Cage had a story that he had never heard before.

Here’s what Manson asked wondering details about Cage’s gambling habits:

“I was asking you about magic numbers, which does tie into the fact that you live in Vegas. Do you gamble?”

Nicolas Cage responded by sharing a story that even his close friend didn’t know about and said:

“The last time I gambled was about 30 years ago. I was in the Bahamas, and I walked into a casino and felt like I had my mojo with me, as nothing could go wrong. My game was roulette. I went in with $200, and I didn’t miss a number.

In 20 minutes I turned $200 into $20,000, so I went and found an orphanage in the Bahamas, met all the kids and the headmistress, and said, ‘This is for you.’ I put the 20 grand in her hand, walked away, and never gambled again because if I did, it would ruin the power of that moment.”

“Sometimes, if I don’t know how to play a part, I can refer to a Francis Bacon image, or I can read a bit of poetry, and it triggers something in my mind that creates a feeling, so that I don’t have to act,” says Nicolas Cage to @marilynmanson in their #chaoticgood interview at the link in our bio. “I think that’s what art, for me, is really about. Animals, too. That’s why I like to surround myself with reptiles and fish and cats. I just bought a crow. His name is Huginn, after one of [the Norse god] Odin’s two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, and he’s amazing… He’s an African pied crow. He says ‘hi’ when I walk into the room and ‘bye’ when I leave. The other morning he started laughing and called me an asshole.” 🍦 Photographed by @rodland.jpg and styled remotely by @melzy917 for our fall issue, out now.
