The well-known vocalist Marilyn Manson recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and attempted to clarify that the sexual assault allegations naming him as the abuser are a ‘horrible distortion of reality.’
As you have probably heard, recently, the famous actress Evan Rachel Wood posted a photo on her Instagram account and revealed that Marilyn Manson was an abusive partner who started grooming her when she was still a teenager. She said that he ‘horrifically abused’ her for years and manipulated her to submission.
She went on to say that the only reason why she didn’t speak up before was that she feared ‘retaliation, slander, or blackmail.’ Upon this statement, other women followed Wood and stated that they too have been sexually abused by the metal-star. For instance, a woman named Gabriella revealed that Manson would tie her up, force her to take drugs with the risk of overdosing, and then rape her.
Following these allegations Loma Vista, the recording company that Marilyn Manson has been working with since 2015, decided to stop promoting his latest album ‘effective immediately.’ They added that they have also decided not to collaborate with Manson neither now nor in the future on any projects involving him.
After all these happenings, initially, Manson refused to answer any questions and address this matter. However, just some hours ago, he posted a statement on his Instagram account and made it clear that his intimate relationships ‘have always been entirely consensual with like–minded partners.’ He went on to say that he doesn’t understand why some people are trying to ‘misrepresent the past.’
Here’s what Evan Rachel Wood said in her recent Instagram post:
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
This is what the recording company Loma Vista said upon hearing the news about Marilyn Manson:
“In light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately. Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.”
Here’s what Marilyn Manson said in his statement:
“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets of controversy, but these recent claims about me are a horrible distortion of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
