A US District Court judge denied the request of Marilyn Manson‘s lawyers to dismiss a lawsuit filed against him by his ex-girlfriend Esmé Bianco. Following that, the court ordered the singer to file formal responses to Bianco’s allegations.
As you know, Marilyn Manson has been struggling with sexual abuse allegations towards him for a long time. It all started when famous actresses Evan Rachel Wood and Esmé Bianco decided to speak up about the abuse they endured during their relationship with Manson. That also encouraged other women who suffered from the same, so numerous women started to open up about the abuse they faced.
According to Esmé Bianco’s allegations, Manson brought her to California from England to supposedly give her roles in music videos and violated human trafficking laws in this way. She also claimed that Manson locked her in a bedroom, didn’t let her sleep, and threatened to rape her. Moreover, Bianco stated the singer continued to sexually, physically, psychologically, and emotionally abuse her on multiple occasions and raped her around May 2011.
Following the actress’ accusations, Manson’s lawyers sought to dismiss her lawsuit. However, the judge denied their request as the effects of Manson’s inconvenient acts persisted even after her last contact with the singer. Therefore, Manson has been ordered to file a formal response to the claims that appeared in the lawsuit within 14 days.
As reported by Metal Hammer, the judge ruled that:
“A reasonable jury could find that the effects of Warner’s alleged unconscionable acts, including the perceived threat to Plaintiff’s safety, immigration status, and career, persisted years after her last contact with Warner.
Following the ruling, Esmé Bianco issued a statement in which she said she hopes this ruling empowers other women to speak up for themselves to ask for justice and proves to abusers that the victims won’t stay in silence.
Esmé Bianco stated that:
“My hope is that this ruling empowers other survivors to pursue justice for themselves while signaling to abusers that they cannot bully victims into silence.“
Moreover, Manson’s lawyer Howard E. King stated that the singer will contest the allegations in court, and they are confident that they will prevail. He also claimed Manson gave in due to Bianco and her lawyer’s financial demands, and the abuse never occurred.
Manson’s lawyer Howard E. King said that:
“To be clear, this suit was only filed after my client refused to be shaken down by Ms. Bianco and her lawyer and give in to their outrageous financial demands based on conduct that simply never occurred. We will vigorously contest these allegations in court and are confident that we will prevail.”
Marilyn Manson currently has a big pile of lawsuits. The singer’s other ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline’s accusing him of sexual assault, unlawful imprisonment, and human trafficking. Moreover, his former assistant Ashley Walters alleges that Manson exploited her, manipulated her, and psychologically abused her. Another woman who is known as Jane Doe also stated the singer raped her and threatened to kill her.
