The co-founding member with his brother David of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, has posted a recent video on his official Instagram account today and announced that the 6CD boxset of Dire Straits’ studio albums will be out soon.

Dire Straits’ whole albums from 1978 to 1991 will be available with the boxset, and all LP’s will come with printed inner sleeves. In addition to that, Brothers In Arms & On Every Street‘s never released before remastered versions will be available with the set.

However, in the press release, Mark Knopfler also announced that Lacquers for Side A of LP6 was damaged during transfer to pressing plant, and this was not cut by Chris Bellman as in The Studio Albums 1978 – 1991 (Pallas version) of the boxset. Click here to check out the pre-order page.

Here is what Mark wrote about the set:

“‘Dire Straits: The Studio Albums 1978 – 1991’ will be available as a 6CD boxset on 9th October alongside National Album Day in the UK; featuring the multi-platinum ‘Dire Straits’ (1978), ‘Communiqué’ (1979), ‘Making Movies’ (1980), ‘Love Over Gold’ (1982), ‘Brothers In Arms’ (1985) and ‘On Every Street’ (1991).

Each album will include a poster with the original sleeve artwork, including lyrics and credits.

For vinyl collectors, the popular 8LP 180-gram vinyl box set has been re-pressed due to overwhelming public demand and will be out globally on the same day, including the US for the first time.”
