Tool and Puscifer’s legendary frontman, Maynard James Keenan was the recent interview guest of LA Week’s Katherine Turman. And he gave some never-told-before details about recent Tool album, ‘Fear Inoculum’, which was released on August 30, 2019.

As you will read the crucial part of the interview below, Maynard James Keenan revealed why he’s afraid to be a control freak in his life. He also indirectly responded to haters who calling him ‘control maniac’.

Here is what Maynard said:

“This has only been the last couple albums with Tool where I’ve had to actually wait for music. Because there’s a psychological — I don’t want to call it a control issue — but similar, where if I start to put something down, the band will go, ‘Holy shit!

If you put something on it, it no longer can move, because he’s made a commitment, and he’s all about making the commitment and sticking to it.’ So then they move the target. They pick up the foundation and change where the walls go.”
