Tool and Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan shared a post with Jiu-Jitsu master Rickson Gracie to promote his new book, and he revealed the technique that he used to beat him when a fan asked.

As you probably know, Maynard James Keenan has been interested in martial arts for a very long time. Because he wanted to learn as much as he can, he focused on practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the worldwide known master and retired mixed martial artist, Rickson Gracie.

Gracie recently released his autobiographical book entitled ‘Breathe: A Life in Flow’ and it is based on both his and his family’s story of how they started to practice Jiu-Jitsu. His student Maynard James Keenan also read the book and wanted to promote it in his own way.

In his recent Instagram post, Keenan shared a photo in which he was being choked by Rickson Gracie to recommend his new book to everyone. Under the post, a fan asked him what did he do to get rid of Gracie’s move, he responded to him by saying that he bit and used the ‘Four Finger Tap Punch’ technique which is probably a pun for Five Finger Death Punch.

Keenan’s IG post read:

“Our Jiu-Jitsu Master, Rickson Gracie has released ‘Breathe: A Life in Flow’ Great read. Highly recommend it.

Here’s what a fan asked:

“Did he have to let that choke go?”

Keenan responded:

I bit him, then used the Four Finger Tap Punch. Not as lethal as the Five Finger Death Punch.”
