Recently, Puscifer members Maynard James Keenan and Matt Mitchell joined an interview with Loudwire to talk about their upcoming album as well as the various problems we had been facing since the beginning of 2020. The iconic musicians mentioned the positive effects of the lockdown days which helped them to focus on the upcoming album even more.

During the interview, Keenan pointed out the fact that people were mistaken to think that they were the most significant thing in the world. On the contrary, Maynard stated that human beings were ‘fairly insignificant’ and not in control of what was happening in the world.

Here’s what Maynard James Keenan stated:

“We’re fairly insignificant. You’re not in control. Mother Nature is in control. When we’re harvesting fruit, when the grapes are coming in, we can only direct that so much. We are absolutely at the mercy of Mother Nature when it comes to receiving that fruit and stepping up to do our part.

In that respect, that probably helps if you have access to that, you have a little firmer grip on what’s happening. You’ve seen the tragedies, you’ve seen the hail come and wipe out your entire crop, then next year you have a crop.”

Furthermore, the legendary vocalist seemed to be optimistic about the future of humanity even though this year had been quite challenging in every sense. Keenan mentioned the way that the world would make the necessary corrections itself, yet reminded that we might not be a part of it.

Here’s what Keenan stated addressing to those he referred to as ‘fucking morons‘:

“Things go in cycles. It’s all gonna work out. The part that most of us can’t grip is that this beautiful blue marble might do some correcting of its own and it might not include us, as it has in the past with dinosaurs and the like.

If you let go of things possibly not working out, you’ll be in a much better space … Fall into a roll, understand how to support the people around you, and stop making it about you, you fucking moron.”
