The legendary frontman of Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, Maynard James Keenan has taken Twitter to commemorate a good friend of him, Taras Ochota, who is also a bass player.
The supergroup Puscifer, leading by Keenan, has returned to music 5 years after their last album, ‘Money Shot,’ with the news that they’re going to release their highly-anticipated album, ‘Existential Reckoning,’ on October 30, 2020.
The band, who announced that the fourth studio album is available on pre-sale, released two songs from the album, ‘Apocalyptical‘ and ‘The Underwhelming‘ in the previous months.
While Maynard James Keenan has been teasing some more from the album and starting a countdown for a big surprise, he was shattered by the death news of his friend. On Twitter, Keenan revealed that Taras Ochota, a multitalented musician, passed away.
He has displayed on the platform that he’s been suffering by losing a great friend. Keenan has recalled Taras with a photo captured when the two were making wine beside a huge barrel.
Taras Ochota was known as one of the original rockstar winemakers. He was the bass player of a promising Adelaide punk band, and an entrepreneur, who was one of Australia’s most boundary-pushing winemakers. He also launched his own label, Ochota Barrels, with his wife Amber.
Here’s what Keenan said in his latest tweet:
“We lost a good one today. Taras Ochota, Ochota Barrels in Adelaide Hills, SA, Australia. Godspeed, Taras. This truly sucks.”
