The official Instagram page of Metallica has announced the band’s brand new collaboration with Monopoly to bring the second edition of the classic game under the name, ‘Metallica World Tour Edition.’

Metallica fans have been looking forward to the news that will herald an upcoming concert or world tour, especially after the South American tour dates scheduled for December were postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, the iconic thrash metal band has surprised everyone through a non-musical project.

As you may recall, the heavy metal band partnered with Monopoly back in 2011 for a distinct edition of the classic game and published ‘Metallica Collector’s Edition Monopoly,’ which was designed for the true Metallica fan in mind, by USAopoly.

In the first edition of the game, the players found the opportunity to go through historic Metallica events and locations around the board including club shows, festivals, studios, childhood homes and other landmarks.

In the second edition of the board game, ‘Metallica World Tour,’ the band aims to celebrate life on the road, including the World Record-breaking year of 2013, when Metallica became the first and only band to perform on all continents.

The player tokens of this version include Lady Justice, Death Magnetic coffin, Ride the Lightning electric chair, Master of Puppets Cross, Metal Up Your Ass toilet, and the Scary Guy.
