Metallica former bass guitarist Ron McGovney shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing his friend, John Kornarens’ wish, and apparently also his, about the upcoming Metallica covers album of pop star Miley Cyrus.

As you may know, during a recent conversation with Interview Magazine, the well-known pop musician Miley Cyrus revealed that she was back in the studio and currently working on a Metallica covers album.

Here is what Cyrus previously stated about her upcoming project:

“We’ve been working on a Metallica covers album and I’m here working on that.”

A recent post on Twitter announced that John Kornarens joined another episode of Metallicast, a Metallica podcast, and revealed first-hand stories about the early years of the band. He also talked about his Metallica collection and opened up about the history of the electric guitar.

After seeing the release of the podcast, Ron McGovney shared a post on his official Twitter page mentioning that John Kornarens was one of his old friends. Ron also revealed that Kornarens wants to get Miley Cyrus to wear the old belt and Metallica t-shirt that the members wore back in the days during the video of her cover album. McGovney himself also sounded like he agreed with the ‘crazy’ idea while sharing the story.

Here is what Ron McGovney stated:

“John Kornarens is an old friend of mine from the Metallica days. He owns an old studded belt that we all wore on stage and the prototype of the first Metallica t-shirt. He wants to get Miley Cyrus to wear them on video when she records those Metallica songs. Crazy!”
