Ex-Metallica bassist Ron McGovney accepted birthday wishes from the fans on social media in honor of his 57th birthday, however, his former bandmates remained silent on this special day.

As you may know, Ron McGovney was the original bassist of the legendary thrash metal band Metallica. Ron performed with the band between the years of 1981 and 1982, however, his short time in Metallica included the continuous clash with the band’s drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist Dave Mustaine. Eventually, McGovney left the band and replaced by Cliff Burton.

Recently on Twitter, one of the most famous fan accounts of Metallica posted a tweet about Ron McGovney’s birthday which was on November 2nd. In the comment section of the tweet, his fans and friends send Ron various lovely messages wishing him a happy birthday.

As a response to the fans’ tweets, Ron McGovney mentioned he was actually at work and having lunch while reading the kind words of his fans and friends on social media. Ron also thanked everyone who remembered his 57th birthday and celebrated it with their delightful messages.

Here’s how McGovney reacted to the fans’ birthday wishes:

“Just sitting here at work during lunchtime reading through happy birthday wishes. Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate the kind words.”

However, Metallica fans were a bit disappointed since none of Ron MyGovney’s former bandmates either remembered his birthday or share any kind of post in honor of this special day on social media platforms.
