Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and other members of the band spoke in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel and revealed their kids thoughts about guitar playing and music stuff.

Kirk Hammett said:

My kids think guitar playing is boring. Yeah, can you believe it? My oldest one plays piano and cello, and my 8-year-old plays violin. They’re only 8 and 10, but I’m just waiting for that moment when they flip over and they turn into full-on metal guys.”

Rob Trujillo added:

“All of our kids are very creative and they all play music.

Lars Ulrich added:

“You start them young. I started like, Guns N’ Roses, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC when they’re 2 or 3 years old, in the car, set on good path.”

James Hetfield’s comment:

“In the car! That’s where you can really force them to listen to your music. They learn The Ramones, like a whole year on the way to school. They know every Ramones, AC/DC song, it’s brainwashing.”
