Metallica’s official Instagram account has shared a really old photo of the band and reacted to a claim that they got from a fan about bassist Jason Newsted.

In this rare picture, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Jason Newsted have posed with the casual clothes in front of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during their holiday in summer 1988.

After Metallica posted this, they didn’t tag the James Hetfield and Jason Newsted. Because of that, a fan user named Reinierreis criticized and blamed the band for being disrespectful against Jason Newsted.

Metallica responded to this comment and announced that Jason Newsted actually doesn’t have an Instagram account, Jason’s wife Nicole Newsted also confirmed this information.

While we were writing this, Metallica’s post liked over 272.000 times and got some very unique comments in the post.

Here is what Metallica captioned:

“Throwback to the Summer of ’88! 🔥 #tbt 📸 by @rosshalfin”

A fan user named Reinierreis added this comment:

“Should have tagged Jason.”

Metallica responded and explained:

“@reinierreis That doesn’t appear to be his account anymore, bro”

Another fan named Connor Tyburski wrote this:

“@reinierreis they didn’t tag James either”

Metallica replied:

“@connortyburski James got rid of his IG account”

Jason Newsted’s wife Nicole Newsted clarified:

“@reinierreis Jason does not have a social media account!”
