Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich posted a photo of himself with Pat O’Conner on Instagram. According to statement, the photo was taken in 1995.

Lars has shared an emotional story over this photo, and wrote:

“On this day in ‘95, pioneering hard rock radio station KNAC in Long Beach, Cali shut down… last song they played was Fade to Black. James and I were there with the emotional crew as an incredible chapter came to end.

KNAC was the first commercial station in the US to play next level hard rock 24-7 continuously and became the soundtrack and part of every experience any of us had when we were hanging in SoCal, especially when we recorded the Justice and Black albums.

Pictured here with Pounding Pat O’Connor on that sad last day. #wanna #knac #purerock

Lars also shared a valentine’s day message to his wife, and wrote:

“Hope everyone’s day is full of next level love ❤️ …sending positive energy and the best vibes from a rainy NorCal to all of you!! #wanna #valentinesday”
