Former Van Halen member who parted ways with the band in 2007, Michael Anthony, has recently interviewed by ‘Talkin’ Rock With Meltdown’ and shared the untold details of his relationship with Van Halen after 2007.
While Michael admitted that he would be out to sing Van Halen songs in 2019 but Eddie himself was pretty private about how ill he was and right now, he is okay if David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar think they can wave the Van Halen flag after Eddie’s death.
Here is what Michael Anthony said about their latest-ever stage performance with Sammy Haggar and the late legend Eddie Van Halen:
“The last time we actually played on stage together was in 2004 when we did the reunion tour with Sammy, that was the last time we all played together on stage.”
In the same interview, Michael Anthony was asked if they had any chance to speak with Eddie Van Halen since they had unsolved problems after he’s fired from Van Halen in 2007. Unfortunately, Michael admitted that they had never spoken for many years.
Here is what he said:
“We actually hadn’t spoken, and unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to. And, you know, it kind of bothers me, because we had some issues that were never resolved.
But, I mean, what can you do? We were on track [for] a reunion, which I’m really sad that never happened. But, you know, life and the show goes on.”
