Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy revealed on his official Twitter account that his son Max Portnoy is now the drummer of Code Orange and he will tour with them along with Slipknot.
Code Orange has been playing with a mysterious drummer for the last few shows during their tour with Slipknot, and the identity of this mysterious drummer is finally revealed on social media.
Max Portnoy had been playing for a nu-metal band, Tallah, for over three years. Yesterday, both the band and his father Mike Portnoy announced that Max joined Code Orange as the new touring member.
While Mike was saying that this was one of the hardest secrets he has ever kept, he also pointed out that Max will be touring with Code Orange at Knotfest music festival along with Slipknot. Knotfest is one of the biggest music festivals in the metal music scene, and this year, they are welcoming Slipknot, Code Orange, Killswitch Engage, and Fever 333. The festival will start on November 5, 2021.
Furthermore, in his tweet, Mike stated that he is so proud of his son and glad to see Max with Code Orange. Portnoy showed his confidence in his son by saying that Max has been slaying the stage with his talent.
Mike Portnoy announced:
“This has been one of the hardest secrets I’ve ever had to keep. I’m so excited that it’s finally been revealed that Max Portnoy is playing drums for Code Orange currently on Knotfest touring with Slipknot… I am so proud of him and he is slaying it every single night with them!”
