Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy shared his concerns about the latest COVID-19 news in the rock/metal community by sharing a new post on his official Twitter account.
Following the vaccination process in 2021, the countries started to allow musicians to tour and make shows. Therefore, most of the bands started hitting the road once again this year.
However, there were also lots of musicians who tested positive for the virus, such as Shinedown drummer Barry Kench, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Rickey Medlocke, Sebastian Bach, and many more.
While sharing this news on social media, the iconic drummer pointed out that these COVID cases emerged within only one week and said that he is deeply concerned about people’s health.
Even though Mike hasn’t scheduled any shows until October 2021, he is pretty afraid of what is going to follow right now. As Mike said, he has bad feelings about playing in the shows before these COVID cases start decreasing again.
Mike Portnoy said:
“And this is just this week! I’m not scheduled to begin touring again till October, but I have a bad feeling about all of this…”
