During the live stream on his official Twitch account, Mike Shinoda has revealed the details about the unreleased Chester Bennington song and revealed if they will release it or not.
Linkin Park recorded and released a studio album named ‘One More Light’ in May 2017 with Chester. Two months later, Chester committed suicide by hanging himself and passed away.
Mike stated that there was an unreleased song that Chester recorded for the One More Light album, named Friendly Fire. However, Mike said that they are not planning to release that song in near future and saddened the fans by saying that they need to wait for years to listen to that song.
Here is what Mike Shinoda said:
“There was a song – a ‘One More Light’ song that… we mixed more than the finished album and we mixed a couple of other songs – just to see if one of them would make the cut or whatever – if we could use it for a B-side.
And it was ‘Friendly Fire,’ Jon Green co-wrote, I wrote that with Jon. I think it was me, Jon, and Brad mostly.
I still love that song. But is that out somewhere? Did we put ‘Friendly Fire’ out at some point? We didn’t do it.
“‘Yeah, drop it!’ Yeah, we’re gonna put out a brand new fucking Linkin Park song with Chester’s voice on. I don’t think so. You guys are gonna have to wait literally years to hear that song.”
