Mötley Crüe bass guitarist and co-founder, Nikki Sixx, unveiled the movie that expanded his horizons and increased his imagination with a new post on his official Instagram account.

Nikki is not only a bass guitarist as most people think. He is also the songwriter of the band and has been writing books. In fact this year, he is supposed to release his fourth memoir and is also in the process of writing another book. It looks like we may finally be able to understand what the source of Nikki’s creativity is.

In the post, Nikki mentioned that he watched ‘Planet Of The Apes‘ when he was ten years old and that movie in combination with the landing on the moon changed his approach towards life, especially space.

‘Planet Of The Apes’ is a movie series that premiered back in 1970, and the reboot series of the movie began in 2011. The motion picture tells the story of a planet that is ruled by advanced apes instead of human beings.

Furthermore, Nikki also pointed out that ‘Planet Of The Apes’ changed his perspective so much as a kid that it became a movie he always recommended to the people around him, which is exactly what he did with his recent post.

Nikki Sixx on the movie that changed his perspective:

“I was 10. I was never the same. Between landing on the moon and ‘Planet Of The Apes’ my imagination was really NEVER the same as a kid. Wide-open spaces.”
