During the recent interview with Substream Magazine, Mötley Crüe’s legendary drummer Tommy Lee shared his top 10 rap and rock songs and surprised the fans with his decisions.

In the first place, Tommy placed Beastie Boys’ ‘So What’Cha Want’ song and revealed his opinion about it. Here is what Tommy Lee said:

“This song is a classic. When I first heard the Hammond B-3 and the super-high vocals, I was hooked. I’m still hooked nearly thirty years later.”

For the second song, Tommy picked ‘(Rock) Superstar’ song by Cypress Hill and praised the high-pitched vocals. Tommy Lee about this song:

“Speaking of powerful high-pitched vocals… And you know what they stand for too! I’m not a huge weed guy, but I dig their vibe.”

Tommy placed Death Grips’ iconic song ‘Guillotine’ in third place and stated that it was one of the most destructive things he ever heard. Here is what Tommy Lee said about this song:

“I saw Death Grips at a really small venue in Silverlake. We were in good company. It was the most destructive thing I’ve ever seen… It was a super heavy industrial vibing two-piece… Super distorted. Super aggro. Love it.”

Tommy’s fourth choice was House of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’ song, which was released two years ago. Tommy explained why this song had to be on this list by praising its energetic side:

“When we decided to write this piece, this song had to go on this list. No matter what room you’re in when you hear ‘Jump Around,’ every time the song comes on and you hear the horns, everyone around you goes, ‘Oh My God!'”

In the fifth place, Tommy picked Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems’ and stated that Jay-Z is the best song-writer in the planet. Also, he mentioned how a powerful song it is:

“Jay-Z won with this heavy track… Jay is the best lyricist on the planet. I wish that I wrote this song.”
