The co-founder and bass guitarist of Mötley Crüe, Nikki Sixx, recently posted a photo of the details of his ‘Twelve Steps’ program and announced that hell soon be celebrating the 20th year of his soberness while encouraging his fans to give it a shot because it works.

Nikki Sixx is one of the rockstars who are the most active on their social media accounts and he specifically uses his Twitter and Instagram accounts the most. He often uses his Instagram account to share sneak peeks from his life, talk about Mötley Crüe, and express his views on numerous matters.

As you know, Mötley Crüe was founded back in 1981 and they reached worldwide fame soon after that. Even though they were highly appreciated for their music, the band members were also known for their androgynous stage personae, endless alcohol and drug abuse, backstage antics, and destroying hotel rooms.

Almost 20 years ago, Nikki Sixx decided to make a change and go sober because he realized that he cannot continue living like that forever. In his recent Instagram post, he expressed his happiness and gratitude for going sober and explained how his life changed radically since he decided to do this for himself

Here’s what Nikki Sixx said in the caption of his Instagram account:

“19.59 years ago tonight I was face down in some vomit with a fist full of pills and cocaine. This coming July 2 I’ll turn 20 years and I will be fly fishing on the Snake River looking up at God and again saying thanks for guiding me outta hell. TRY IT YOU’LL LIKE IT”
