During a recent interview with ‘Westlake Magazine & West Luxury Magazine,’ Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has revealed how he prepared for the opening night of the band’s upcoming tour, The Stadium Tour, with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

As we all know, The Stadium Tour will start in Jacksonville, Florida on June 18, and will be the first live concert of Mötley Crüe since completed the band’s 2014/2015 farewell tour.

In a previous interview with Fox Business, Mötley Crüe’s director Allen Kovac confirmed that the band members had a strict diet and heavy training for the upcoming reunion tour.

Nikki Sixx announced that he was getting ready for the upcoming show like ‘crazy,’ and trying to show for a great stage performance.

Here’s what Nikki Sixx stated:

“I train like crazy for tours. You don’t want to step on stage and not have double the stamina as the length of the show. I do fast cardio, weight training and HIIT (high-intensity interval training). I eat 2,250 calories a day.

And then, of course, there is building stamina around my bass playing. I’ve got to be ready to go fast and hard for 90 to 120 minutes while jumping around like a madman and singing background vocals. You don’t just wing rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a sport.”
