Mötley Crüe co-founder and bassist Nikki Sixx posted a new tweet on his official Twitter account, and he also responded to a Twitter user about people around him being thoughtfulness during recovery.

As you may know, Nikki Sixx is quite famous for his past filled with drugs and alcohol. He had a close brush with death six times. According to records, Sixx was dead for two minutes and came back thanks to two doses of adrenaline. After facing death, Sixx entered rehab in January 1988 and, now he is sober for almost 20 years

Back in 2020, Sixx gave an interview to Yahoo and opened up about his journey of recovery. He revealed that his second overdose within 24 hours in 1987 was one of his ‘a-ha’ moments. Sixx said that the moment he woke up, he felt like he had a spiritual intervention, which he could not pinpoint at that time.

He also mentioned how the negative effect of people made him go to rehab in search of positive influence. Thankfully, as he points, he found the keys right to his future there and decided then that he would do everything in his power to keep passing this along.

Even though he is clean and sober for years now, it is still challenging, and people still may have a negative influence by being drunk around him.

Here is what he said:

“I wonder if people I am around at times that get extremely drunk forget that I am in recovery. I’m a recovering Heroin addict. I don’t ask people not to enjoy a glass but I just don’t think they understand that just because we’re sober we don’t get uncomfortable.”

A Twitter user replied to Sixx’s tweet by sharing his thoughts:

“Depends on the amount people drink around me… One or two is okay… Completely smashed is not…”

In response to the Twitter User, Sixx mentioned his determination about his sobriety besides how boring these people’s reckless actions are. Here is how Nikki Sixx responded:

“Yup. I mean I am so solid with my sobriety but smashes slurring behavior is so boring.”
