Mr. Big vocalist Eric Martin shared his opinions about Guns N’ Roses during a recent appearance on Appetite For Distortion.

As you may know, Guns N’ Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour took place in 1992. During the tour, GN’R promoted their ‘Use Your Illusion I & II’ albums while Metallica promoted their eponymous fifth album, also known as the ‘Black Album.’ Besides, Faith No More and Motörhead also opened for both legendary bands.

Furthermore, it was one of the tours where Guns N’ Roses was in good shape, and they drew lots of attention from the community due to their impressive shows. In fact, some people still think that they were in better shape compared to Metallica.

In the interview by Appetite For Distortion, Eric recalled when Guns N’ Roses and Metallica went on to the North American Stadium Tour together in 1992 and compared the bands by praising both. While Eric stated that Guns N’ Roses is a great band, he also pointed out that they were actually neck to neck with Metallica back in those days in terms of live performances.

Eric Martin told Appetite For Distortion his opinions on Guns N’ Roses and Metallica as:

“I love Guns N’ Roses, a great band. I’ve seen them play live a few times.

I actually saw them with Metallica, and it was neck-and-neck, man. Metallica actually was pretty good, especially that night. I wore a Duff McKagan shirt on a bunch of Mr. Big festivals after that, it looked cool.”
