Nikki Sixx, Mötley Crüe’s co-founder and bassist, recently posted a tweet on his Twitter account and clarified numerous great misconceptions considering their band, Mötley Crüe.

Mötley Crüe is one of the most popular metal bands of all time and being this popular often leads to misunderstandings, rumors, and misconceptions. A lot of Mötley Crüe’s Instagram posts were used as sources to create falsified news.

As you might recall, approximately three weeks ago Mötley Crüe posted a photo on their Instagram account with two young kids after a concert in the ’80s. As one of the kids resembles Metallica’s James Hetfield, Mötley Crüe fans started claiming that James was a Crüe fan since he was a child, which cannot be true as Hetfield and Mötley Crüe members are at the same age.

However, as you can see, it is very common for Mötley Crüe to come across -sometimes illogical- misunderstandings. This time, the rumor was based on three photos which were all misinterpreted in their own way.

The first photo features Nikki Sixx posing with a friend, probably around the ’80s. The person standing next to Sixx was rumored to be Tommy Lee, Mötley Crüe’s co-founder, and long term drummer.

The second photo is of a house that was rumored to be the infamous ‘Mötley House’ in which the band members lived during the ’80s. A fellow Mötley Crüe fan posted a video on YouTube showing the infamous ‘Mötley House‘ and while some responded in excitement, others questioned the accuracy of this information.

Finally, the third photo features Nikki Sixx and another person with a little boy on their lap. While some people argued that the little boy is Nikki’s son Gunner, die-hard Mötley Crüe fans were in doubt.

In his recent tweet, Nikki Sixx retweeted a follower’s ‘detective work.’ One of Sixx’s followers had listed all the photos mentioned above and demonstrated how fans were wrong and why all these rumors were nothing but misconceptions.

Firstly, he stated that in the first photo, the guy standing next to Nikki Sixx is not Tommy Lee but a guy named Pat. Secondly, he stated that the number of the building which is argued to be the ‘Mötley House’ is wrong as the number was 1140 and not 1124, Finally, he clarified that the boy in the last photo is not Sixx’s son but Dee Holland’s son.

To such a good detective/die-hard Mötley Crüe work, Nikki Sixx had nothing to say except congratulating him. Nikki Sixx posted this fan’s tweet on his Twitter account and confirmed that all of the Crüe-head’s findings were correct.

Here’s what Nikki Sixx said:

“That is correct. Good detective work.”
