The co-founder and bass guitarist of Mötley Crüe, Nikki Sixx has taken Instagram to thank all of his loved ones, friends, and fans for their kind birthday wishes while admitting that he really needed to hear them especially this year.

The iconic musician and talented photographer, Nikki Sixx, has celebrated his 61st birthday isolated from most of the people he loves this year. On December 11, the Sixx family has gone to snowmobiling in the mountains of their new home in Wyoming.

Overwhelmed by the disasters 2020 brought, yet, happy to receive great messages from his fans on the occasion of his birthday, Nikki Sixx has penned a heartwarming thank-you note on Instagram.

Sixx admitted that his heart was really touched by all the kind messages for his special day. Waking up to funny birthday wishes, social outreach, and the sweetest message and phone calls from his kids made this birthday even more special than usual, he said.

The bassist explained that 2020 has been like sandpaper on his soul like many of us. However, all the love he received reminded him of how much we have in such a chaotic time. Sixx went on and confessed that he needed to hear those lovely words.

Here’s what Nikki Sixx said in his recent Instagram post:

“Yesterday after being mostly isolated from loved ones and friends this year my heart was really touched by all the kind messages for my birthday. Waking up to funny birthday wishes, social outreach, and the sweetest message and phone calls from my kids made this birthday even more special than usual.

To be honest I really needed it. Like many of us, 2020 has been like sandpaper on my soul. All the love reminded me of how much we have and not what we can’t do right now. I am still trying to respond to all the messages.

Again thank you. My wife is taking me snowmobiling in the national forest today….. Courtney Sixx really made it special doing tons of activities in the snow. Thank you again for all the love. ❤️”
