Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has reminisced about one of the Crüe shows in 1982 when the frontman of the band, Vince Neil, lighted Nikki on fire even though the fire department had warned them they would get arrested if they did that stunt onstage.
Since he came all the way from Los Angeles to Wyoming to begin a new life with his family there, the iconic bassist, Nikki Sixx, has been pretty active on social media, sharing the pictures he took of his little daughter, Ruby, and lovely wife, Courtney Sixx, during their adventurous activities like snowboarding.
As the Sixx family is getting used to the severe climate conditions in Wyoming, Nikki Sixx has taken Instagram to disclose a special memory about Mötley Crüe. Sixx posted the photo of the concert poster of the band from 1982.
Nikki recalled the specific event in which his bandmate, Vince Neil, lighted him on fire onstage and got both Nikki and himself into trouble with the fire department.
According to Sixx, the fire department warned them saying they would get arrested for their crazy show, but, they didn’t in the end. The bassist said they got a hefty fine instead, which was more devastating considering they were dead broke back then.
Here’s what Nikki Sixx said in his recent Instagram post:
“I remember Vince Neil lighting me on fire after the fire department had warned us we would get arrested if we did that stunt onstage.
We didn’t get arrested but got a hefty fine which was more devastating considering we were dead broke.”
