Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss recently shared a post on her official Instagram account saying that she became the first female solo artist who reached the top spot at Rock Radio.

Nita Strauss has been the touring guitarist of Alice Cooper since 2014, but besides that, she has also pursued a successful solo career. After collaborating with various names over the years, Strauss released her debut solo album, ‘Controlled Chaos,’ in 2018. She played all of the guitars and also bass on the record.

‘Controlled Chaos’ was an instrumental album, and it was generally regarded as a promising debut. Nita Strauss was praised by the critics for her fantastic technique and excellent ballads. She initially released the first single, ‘Our Most Desperate Hour,’ in September 2018 and then the second one, ‘Mariana Trench,’ two months later. Strauss didn’t release any new solo material until 2021.

In October 2021, Nita Strauss released a new single named ‘Dead Inside,’ featuring Disturbed’s David Draiman. The track received very positive comments, and apparently, it also topped the charts. According to Strauss’ recent Instagram post, she became the first female solo artist who reached No. 1 on Rock Radio. She stated that she didn’t do it alone and thanked her fans for all their support.

Nita Strauss’ Instagram post read:

“It’s official. I didn’t know this fact until a few weeks ago. No female solo artist has had a number one single on Rock Radio, ever. Until Today. We held strong on the charts all week, and ‘Dead Inside’ is officially the number one rock song in the country. I didn’t do it alone. We did it! You did it! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We made it to the top… now time to stay here.”
