Polygon Entertainment officially announced that their new project is a biopic focusing on the lives of Ozzy Osbourne and his wife and partner Sharon Osbourne. According to Variety, the untitled biopic is currently in the works.
Back in 2020, Osbournes announced a new biopic about Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Jack Osbourne revealed that the film would cover the period between 1979 and 1996. On the other hand, Ozzy Osbourne stated the film will be about him, Sharon, and their relationship.
Sharon Osbourne mentioned Queen and Freddie Mercury’s biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in the same interview and said theirs will be more real than that. She then added that the biopic will be an adult movie for adults as they are not making it for kids.
Jack Osbourne told Rolling Stone that:
“We have a writer. We said to go from 1979 to 1996. I can’t say too much, but the film is active development.“
Ozzy Osbourne then stated:
“From what I understand, it’s about Sharon and me and our relationship. It’s how we met, fell in love, and how we married. She’s my other half. She grew up a lot with me, and I grew up a lot with her. We celebrated 38 years of marriage just recently.”
Commenting on ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ Sharon Osbourne claimed that:
“Our film will be a lot more real. We don’t want it to be squeaky, shiny clean, and all of that. We’re not making it for kids. It’s an adult movie for adults.”
On November 19, 2020, Aimée Osbourne updated the fans that they were getting ready to start casting. As reported by Variety, the untitled film is currently developed by Polygram Entertainment while Sharon has taken over the production duties along with their children Aimée and Jack.
Moreover, Oscar nominee Lee Hall is scripting the project, which will delve into the iconic couple’s relationship details. The upcoming biopic will also feature Black Sabbath’s music alongside Ozzy Osbourne’s solo musical efforts. According to Sharon Osbourne, they are thrilled to partner with Polygram Entertainment and Sony Pictures for the biopic.
According to Variety, Sharon Osbourne said in a statement that:
“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane, and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together. We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”
Osbourne Media, which is led by Jack Osbourne, produced another film about Ozzy Osbourne last year. Titled ‘Biography: The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne,’ the documentary chronicled the iconic musician’s life and career.
