Pantera’s legendary frontman Phil Anselmo spoke in an interview with GMM, and revealed what he really think about The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie and Nick Cave.

He said that ‘it’s great music, I like great music’, here’s the entire statement:

“I’ve grown up my entire life listening to a lot of different music. It hasn’t all been heavy metal, but I would say the majority of it has been.

“But still, there’s no denying The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, Nick Cave – there’s no denying it, it’s great music, I like great music. I like terrible music too. [Laughs]”

Interviewer asked:

“How does it feel to be back on the road again?”

Anselmo responded:

“I’ve been touring all year, feels like it always has been, except these days there’s no hangover in the morning, I’ll be fifty-fucking-one this year… Jesus.”

He continued:

“It has to, yes, and you got to. If I would’ve kept drinking the way I was drinking, I’m not sure you and I would be standing here doing this interview.

It’s pretty brutal, man, when I think back to all the madness and chaos, it’s like that part of it, it’s good to leave in the past.”
