The Beatles’ co-lead vocalist and bassist, Paul McCartney recently posted a video on his Instagram account and announced that his new album ‘McCartney III Imagined‘ has just been released, and asked his fans what their take on it is.

As you may recall, in late 2020, Paul McCartney shocked his fans with a surprise album that he started working on after the outbreak of COVID-19. Macca released his 18th solo album ‘McCartney III‘ on December 18, 2020, and it was a great success. Upon seeing how much his fans had missed his music and observing that young musicians were also interested, he embarked on a new project.

At the beginning of March, Paul announced that he’s been secretly working on the remaking of his latest album in collaboration with young artists such as; Director .Paak, Beck, Blood Orange, Damon Albarn, Dominic Fike, Ed O’Brien, Josh Homme, Khruangbin, Robert Del Naja, Phoebe Bridgers, and St.Vincent.

The aim of ‘McCartney III Imagined‘ was to create an album including the remixes and covers of his own songs in each artist’s own signature styles. The first single from the album ‘Kiss of Venus‘ by Dominic Fike was released on March 11, and it soon started charting on the Spotify US Viral charts.

With his recent post, McCartney announced that the whole album was released on April 16, right on the scheduled date, and that it’s now available on digital and streaming platforms. He went on to add the fans who’ve pre-ordered the CD and vinyl versions will receive a ‘special bonus track featuring Idris Elba.’

Here’s what Paul McCartney said in the caption of his post:
