The co-lead vocalist and bassist of The Beatles, Paul McCartney remained silent on the 80th birthday of his late bandmate John Lennon while Ringo Starr was honoring him with a lovely message on Twitter and the fans were upset.
As you know, the iconic member of The Beatles, John Lennon passed away on December 8, 1980, at the age of 40. He was shot four times at close range by Mark Chapman. Since the tragic assassination of The Beatles star, his family and fans around the world have been devastated. They have been honoring him every year on the anniversary of his death.
If John Lennon was alive today, he would have turned 80 years old on September 9th. Although it has been 40 years since his death, the fans and his family didn’t forget the iconic musician on his 80th birthday. His bandmates and fans around the world shared Lennon’s photos on social media to remember him on this special day.
On Twitter, The Beatles’ iconic drummer Ringo Starr posted the photo of his dear friend to honor hitm on his 80th birthday. In his tweet, Starr sent his thoughts and prayers to Yoko Ono and Lennon’s son Sean.
“John would’ve been 80 today. I send you peace and love I still miss you man peace and love to Yoko and Sean.😎✌️🌟❤️☮️”
However, John’s dear friend and bandmate Paul McCartney preferred to remain silent on his birthday while The Beatles fans were honoring the late musician with various posts on social media. As you will see below, McCartney has been using his social media accounts quite actively to reach out to his fans. Paul’s insusceptible attitude about John Lennon caused a disappointment among The Beatles fans.
Update: It looks like Ringo Starr has mistaken the date of John Lennon’s birthday and we have to admit that we didn’t check the date twice since we trusted him. John Lennon’s birthday is on October 9th and therefore Paul McCartney hasn’t posted anything. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
