Pearl Jam’s official Instagram account celebrated the 100th anniversary of The Nineteenth Amendment by sharing a new post and touched upon the importance of the right to vote.

Back in 1920, the United States Constitution gave rights to vote for the women in the United States of America with The Nineteenth Amendment. To make this happen, women’s rights activists like Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth became a role model for the amendment.

Pearl Jam touched upon the importance of being able to vote and remembered the legacy of these women’s rights activists. Also, the band mentioned that they are the real heroes of the world by making it a better and equal place.

According to the caption of the photo, this rare frame was taken by a famous freelance photographer in Providence, Jay Vee Kay.

Here is what Pearl Jam wrote:

“Today we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the 19th amendment. We celebrate Susan B. Anthony & Sojourner Truth.

We celebrate the heroes of the women’s suffrage movement – true rock stars of democracy. There’s no better election to say ‘I Voted.'”
